A re-post

by subville @ Saturday, 30. Jun, 2007 - 10:56:36 pm

... from a few blogs ago :))

Just felt like posting, cos I added it to Facebook the other day

MumLineDrawing

It's a self-portrait of my mum, when she was in the middle of chemo ... scarf to cover nose, as no nose-hairs ... shades to cover eyes, as no eye lashes x

pssst I'm not sad or anything :D

Words & Phrases (that became extinct)

by subville @ Saturday, 30. Jun, 2007 - 07:38:22 pm

There are loads of words I used to love when I was younger and I miiiiiiiss them :))

Numpty (recently resurrected)
Midden (scottish word for dungheap or rubbish tip ... often used to say describe someone who's dirty-minded or bodied) :))
Clatty (also scottish word for something dirty)
Golly (nominated by Brad as a much-missed word)
Drat - suggested by alec weston
Eejit - suggested by Andy
Minger - suggested by PurpleDragon
Cripes - suggested by alec weston
Pidgeon - suggested by steve_p
Shippon - suggested by ParsleySage
Twat - suggested by Meno ('wanker' isn't extinct) :))

Got any more? I'll add them to the list and we can work them into blog lingo (blingo?) :))

Ceejikins

by subville @ Friday, 29. Jun, 2007 - 06:32:04 pm

I've spoken to CJ and he's totally fed-up cos he can't get on blog :(

He asked me to say how much he misses you all and wave

Says it's like being in prison, and apparently Paris made him her bitch

Ceejism - she's called Paris cos you really get an eye-full :))

Hopefully he'll be back soon. He just needs his software tweaked a little :))

Factoids

by subville @ Friday, 29. Jun, 2007 - 05:19:30 pm

From the Steve Wright show (go listen to Ask Elvis ... it's hysterical)

* The leg bones of a bat are so thin that no bat can walk.
* The Old English word for "sneeze" is "fneosan".
* There is no such things as naturally blue food; even blueberries are purple.
* The only domestic animal not mentioned in the Bible is the cat. (goldfish?)
* When a giraffe's baby is born it falls from a height of six feet, normally without being hurt.
* A bolt of lightning can strike the Earth with a force as great as 100 million volts.
* The Sanskrit word for "war" means "desire for more cows."
* Only humans and horses have hymens. (blimey!)
* A "funambulist" is a tight-rope walker.
* Good bye came from God bye which came from God be with you. So-long came from the Arabic salaam and the Hebrew shalom.
* The dot over the letter 'i' is called a tittle.
* Duelling is legal in Paraguay as long as both parties are registered blood donors.

wet stuff

by subville @ Friday, 29. Jun, 2007 - 01:39:02 pm

It's torrential out there (that is ... not in here)

That was a bit of luck then :>>

Likes - food

Dislikes - rain, hair getting wet when newly straightened

lunch

by subville @ Friday, 29. Jun, 2007 - 01:10:59 pm

Today's lunch is a damn sight more tasty than yesterday's :D

Ciabatta with goat's cheese and caramelised onions mmmmmmmmmm

and a latte

and a gingerbread cake with honey syrup (with a generous blob of cream)

and 2 choc covered coffee beans

*burp* mmmmmmmmmmm again :))

My ex wanted to borrow a suitcase (him and the wee yin are off to Derby for a wedding) so he offered to treat me to lunch :>>

I've said it before, and I'll say it again ....

I like food, me

*snigger*

un-dentist

by subville @ Wednesday, 27. Jun, 2007 - 03:25:49 pm

A wee while ago I had an abscess. The appointment I had in place, for the start of June, was a 6-month check-up (and therefore only 10 mins long) They changed it to today because of the abscess and gave me some tablets. Which worked. So I waited for weeks and weeks to get to today.

Cycled down there *chewing the inside of my cheek*

They f*cked-up the appointment! No record of it :)) all that worry and getting dressed before noon for nothing :))

Ah well *shrug* next Thursday it is then.

Got some shopping and cycled back. Oh no I didn't - I walked back with my bike. Thinking time.

mmm lunch-time. Why does eating a peperoni feel so rude? Every time I eat one I feel embarrassed if anyone sees me peeling the *snigger* sheath back. With bananas I just break a chunk off with my fingers unless I want them to see me eat it :))

Gawd, I just heard a voice that makes my heart flip too. *sigh*

Today I will mostly be : horny :))

pesky kids

by subville @ Tuesday, 26. Jun, 2007 - 04:59:08 pm

I don't like (other) children.

My kid phoned from school saying his bike tyre's been stabbed :|

He's back now. It looks too big to be a compass hole. Small knife?

Secondary school wasn't as rough when I was younger, was it?

Top Twenty

by subville @ Tuesday, 26. Jun, 2007 - 03:04:58 pm

I know the secret of the Top Twenty ;)

What you have to do is .....

look at your stats over and over and over and over etc

:))

(sorry, it made me smile)

In

by subville @ Monday, 25. Jun, 2007 - 11:47:33 pm

To you lot *points, rudely*

No-one asked me a thing about ex :>>

One person asked me about my work situation (the person I thought most likely to)

I just mumbled and shrugged ... well I never said I was quick-witted, did I?

It was so noisy I couldn't have much of a conversation with anyone anyway. We were last to get our dinner :))

Felt sorry for one of my pals as she's pregnant and she was the last person out of 70 to get fed, and you know what it's like when you're pregnant :|

The speaker was ace. I felt less nervous once I could listen to her and forget about having to talk to anyone (and thereby possibly talk crap and have stuff to beat myself up over when I got home)

Pudding took forever to arrive and we were ... last again. So we were an hour later than we thought we'd be.

The lady who's pregnant is leaving for USA next Dec. So we've decided we're having a Thanksgiving meal in her honour ... yippee!

I dunno if any of you have read any of my blogs *ahem* from the start, but it was her house that I went to for Thanksgiving in 2005, the day my husband moved out. I made a Bean Dip thing ... ah forget it, you prolly don't remember :D

out

by subville @ Monday, 25. Jun, 2007 - 05:02:19 pm

I'm going out for a meal tonight. There will be around 60 - 70 women from church there. My starbucky mate generously treated me to a ticket to hear this guest speaker ... er ... speaking. Mostly it'll be great

but

I predict that some will ask the dreaded question ... "What are you doing these days?" (meaning - are you working yet?)

At this point my 'skills coaching' will become a shield, wrapped round me to justify my existence. I don't want it to be that :( That'll spoil it and make it something I dread ... a pressure ... something I have to do cos they're gonna ask what happened if I don't finish.

I'm fairly certain I've failed in the eyes of some already, my ex seems like a great guy, and he is. But short of telling them frickin everything - I'm gonna seem picky.

It probably won't be as bad as I'm thinking. Mibbe I'll come home saying it was loadsa fun?

It shouldn't matter what people think - but it does.

Sunday

by subville @ Sunday, 24. Jun, 2007 - 10:02:00 pm

Did not sleep.

Obviously my fantasy rough sex wasn't tiring enough

Woke several times composing a post on morbid repentant thoughts about my mum's death-bed scene. You think your brain is weird? :P

Very yawny at church. Lovely parking person brought giant chocolate chip cookies for us all :D After the first lot were 'in' and parked we signed off, they all walked away to go into the service and I'm like - hello?! cookies!!! So I stuck mine in my gob and headed towards a kettle :DD

Read the Sunday papers over coffee whilst a friend took the mick saying I'd be in trouble with my illicit cookie *kick*

Anyway yaddayadda all done, my friend P drove me home and we collected Mini from my ex. Went to a couple's house for a BBQ ... it was bucketing though so we were indoors. Lovely grub  and one of P's yummy cakes for afters (she made extra and left it at my house too mmmmm)

Mini was (relatively) good. Had an excellent chat about all sorts ... Titanic, 9/11, the moon landing (who took the photos???) I shall be forwarding a fellow blogger's link about 9/11 cos it gave me lots to think about and I know they'll enjoy it :D

Home. Blogged a bit. Mini to bed. Checked out A's digital dooda blog 8| ;) my head's like that too :))

... and here we are :>>

What about YOU???

How to make yer brain calm down

by subville @ Saturday, 23. Jun, 2007 - 03:34:07 pm

Very early start for me tomorrow

Yes, yes, I know it's normal for you lot but I have to get up at frickin six thirty to take my friend's spot on the rota (for pointing and parking) He's 'away' this week so I'm doing both shifts for him.

*stop sniggering, Flicky*

I have to try to sleep at about 11ish ... how the "heck" am I gonna do that, eh?

I can't get drunk cos it takes me 3 days to recover
I can't smoke dope cos it makes my brain go all funny
I can't take Valium cos I'll sleep through the (three) alarms :>>

So

Rough sex it is then

don't tell them though, will ya? lol

Went for a hot bacon baguette at Tatties :D smothered in vinegar mmmm

Hadda yummy latte and dismantled the week with my pal. *yackyackyack*

Enjoyed a spot of wandering and looking.

Thought about getting myself a cheapo MP3 player. Logik £30 or summat

Chai latte in Starbux and a butterfly cake (this is becoming a habit) :)) :))

So yummy

Why has my daft mate deleted her blog(s) ? You know who you are.

Hope yer ok, have a feeling you are :>>

There are good films on next week. 28 Days Later (yes I know you don't like horror) :P

What my mother taught me

by subville @ Thursday, 21. Jun, 2007 - 09:36:54 pm

What my mother taught me…

My mother taught me to appreciate a job well done:
“If you’re going to kill each other, do it outside – I’ve just finished cleaning!”

My mother taught me religion:
“You’d better pray that stain will come out of the carpet.”

My mother taught me about time travel:
“If you don’t straighten up, I’m going to knock you right into the middle of next week!”

My mother taught me logic:
“Because I said so, that’s why.”

My mother taught me foresight:
“Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you’re in an accident.”

My mother taught me irony:
“Keep laughing and I’ll give you something to cry about.”

My mother taught me about the science of osmosis:
“Shut your mouth and eat your supper!”

My mother taught me about contortionism:
“Will you look at the dirt on the back of your neck!”

My mother taught me about stamina:
“You’ll sit there until all that spinach is finished.”

My mother taught me about weather:
“It looks as if a tornado swept through your room.”

My mother taught me how to solve physics problems:
“If I yelled because I saw a meteor coming towards you, would you listen to me then?”

My mother taught me about hypocrisy:
“If I’ve told you once, I’ve told you a million times: don’t exaggerate!!”

My mother taught me the circle of life:
“I brought you into this world, and I can take you out.”

My mother taught me about behaviour modification:
“Stop acting like your father!”

My mother taught me about envy:
“There are millions of less fortunate children in this world who don’t have wonderful parents like you do!”

Thanks, Mum!

How are you feeling?

Triggered by a conversation tonight

by subville @ Thursday, 21. Jun, 2007 - 08:25:55 pm

I woke up yesterday with a thought of what I was gonna post, a big long blog about some things I've been wanting to say for ages. Then I thought hmmm mibbe I shouldn't ... it isn't just about me so mibbe I should say nothing

So I'm not gonna blog about -

... how much I love Andy Spencer and have done for months and months and months.

... how I feel lost without him when we're out of 'contactable zone' (I'm doing summat with friends/he's working etc)

... how I see him being in my life for a very long time

... how my heart fills up every time I speak to him or see him

lots of other things, but that's enough for now.

Some of you know this anyway, I thought more of you knew than apparently do.

I can't wait to see him again
