A phone call.
Apparently someone phoned Maxi's mum a little while ago saying ...
"Hello, you might not have met me before but I'm MW's mother-in-law. Her youngest child, my grand-daughter, has been murdered and there's going to be an investigation into all the men who have ever been involved with her. Also, MW has had a nervous breakdown."
This grand-daughter she's talking about must be about 6 now. The ex has her.
The person who made the phone call was MW. She didn't even try to disguise her voice.
Sorry, I shouldn't be giggling but after a while there's not much else you can do.
Maxi's mum thought I should know, after all the hassle. Forewarned is forearmed kinda thing.

Nothing interesting to say. It's been a good day though. Loads of work done. Sun shone for a while, rain rained for a while.
A child stayed over with Mini last night. Another one showed up at 8.30
I have a feeling that another 3 showed up while I was at work. One brought his xbox round cos Mini's was taken by courier to be fixed. He has a new game from his dad (Rainbow 6 Las Vegas 2?) so had to play it immediately.Watched Mitchell & Webb - frickin hysterical

Catherine Tate isn't so funny any more but Peter Kay's on it so *fneugh*
Still considering a lappie. Annoyed at Bill Gates cos I want XP not feckin Vista

Wondering if it really would work ok to buy a lappie with Vista on it and get XP from Ebay
Or if I'd end up regretting it. In other news - the vibrating cushion for my back that Andy got me at Crimbo is bluddy marvellous. I think it might even help with my *whispers* IBS

He left at quarter to six. I'm ok. It's been so lovely

The weather's been crud till today, typical. But it really hasn't mattered too much. I've sickened him of Starbucks though
but we did have an unusual next-table-neighbour this afternoon
I think he had learning difficulties of some sort so I kinda sorta have to forgive it, don't I?
She didn't mean to give you the wrong type of drink, you both have accents - get over it!Bought a new filing cabinet the other day. It's pink
Look, it's not that bad, although I grant you it does sound it. So I had filing to do; to soften the blow of Andy going home - yes, I know I'm weird. Mini's back *holding his cash-hungry hand out* He really likes Andy (yay!) but I was expecting that ...

He has a friend staying over. He just got back this afternoon and he has a friend staying over *arg*
Meh.
He phoned another friend. I'd already tipped the contents of my purse into his sweaty mitt.
"Can J stay too?"
No ... no ... no ... no ... no ... no ... no ... no ... no
times 37
A different one is staying tomorrow night.
*frantic filing*
No, it's not a euphemism
I shall be locked in my PC room for most of their stay. The Xbox is bust and they'll be after entertainment money.
Expect lots more blogging tomorrow

Oh, before I go ... apparently I'm "Yo!" according to one of Mini's wee friends.
"Mum, this is T"
T says "Yo!"

Lazy day today. Wandered around for a while *clickclickclickclick* down by the river and such. Many had the same idea. Lovely lunch of baked camembert, salad, bread & apricot relish in a cute riverside pub. Saw a rat by one of the uni grounds (I've not seen a rat here before)

It didn't really sink in, what had happened. Not till I got back from work today. I'm wondering if the floods of tears are a selfish thing because it's nothing to do with me.
A friend I've met twice. A friend I had a shaky start with ... then discovered the depth of, briefly. I like her person and I fully believe a lot of her was in Cody. Over the months we've read how cheeky, sussed and thoughtful he is and how much his mum adores him.
Watching what happened on blog at this news was very touching, and painful. Hence the tears. I'm stuck in that moment now. Remembering the world standing still. Looking at folk and wondering why they were carrying on, doing normal things. I'll forgive myself this selfishness I think, and attribute these feelings to being there with her.
So hard to form the words, to be exact.
Know how much you're loved, hon. It's times like this that folk can be allowed to show it.

Folk are kickin up a stink round here about Tesco wanting to plonk their self on Mill Road. It's all over the papers, big meetings, folk standing about with placards and singing daft songs about the big bastard Tesco

On the empty shop front they've stuck posters saying NO TO TESCO and A4 sheets with FAQs. They're moaning about how it's gonna change the place, remove all the wee shops, take the character away from here, etc.
Half the shops on Mill Road are lying empty anyway, and it looks a bit guff, cos the cost of rental is too much. The shops that are there now over-charge for their goods cos the rent's so high. The price gets passed to us and they call that 'character'

I bought unrefined sugar from a local shop (£1.79 for 500g). Next time I got it from Tesco (92p for 1Kg). What are these people on?
To get to a decent shop (i.e. one that charges a fair price) I have to either:
* Get a bus (Day-rider ticket £3) and only buy what I can carry on and off a bus.
or
* Walk to the nearest Tesco or Asda (quite a distance and I'm in pain that day and the next) and get a taxi back (at least £5)
or
* Taxi there and back (£5 each way)
or
* Plead with ex and have to fit in with his agenda (once he took me to Sainsbury's instead cos he didn't want to drive to Asda! £ x many!)
That one is a last resort.
So, who's the biggest, baddest ... erm ... baddie?
Tesco or the Council?
I think I'm the only one with no poster on my window! LOL

Hmmm. It was set in Revelation time ... you couldn't buy anything if you didn't have the 'mark of the beast'. I don't usually think of it like this but ... someone had held my arm and tricked me into having a black band put round my wrist, with a square thing attached to it. I suppose it was like being tagged when you're on bail or something?
Anyway, I'd been 'got' and there was no way out of it, but I was telling other folk about it - so they wouldn't fall for the same trick, and for my troubles was given kinda 'brownie points'. So even though I was lost I was able to have some kind of special commission.
The person who we all grouped around (leader? some kind of helper? we all had to group together anyway ... us V's evilness!) this person had a kind of credit card and was able to get supplies for us to survive on (manna?)
Very strange. I've never had a dream like that before!

Right. I have a throat thing that's about to start, as my head is throbbing and my throat feels peculiar. So that's why I've not been coping so well. Every time I get a throat bug, I feel depressed and fragile for a few days before it. My mum noticed this years ago. Glad I know what it is cos I was getting pissed off with myself for not handling things better.
Got back from work and there was a message from my local PC. I'd left a message for him yesterday about the shenanigans of Mad Woman & daughter.
Spoke to him and he's gonna sort things with the Crime Prevention dudes and the council woman who's dealing with MW. She's been threatened with ASBO's quite a bit from numerous people round here. He's going to do his best with this. It's better when you are assigned a local PC, it seems. He knows what is going on.
I don't know if it'll make anything stop but it's a step in the right direction.
Sorry for all the whinging over the last couple of days. I'm not a good patient

Got a call from P earlier, she's in hospital because of gall stones. I'd been emailed about it last night. They are gonna take the stones out and remove her gall bladder at a later date.
She told me the church office had asked if I was ok.

Then explained that Mad Woman (or perhaps her daughter) had left a message on the answerphone. It was quite garbled apparently, but accused my ex of murder and both of us of a number of things.
I phoned the church and was told of the message. The woman that Mad Woman had shouted at and thrown summat at left our church a wee while back. None of the other office staff know the story of all this. I filled K in with all the garbage. She's offered to speak up for me to the police (who are pretty much doing sod all to help) if I want that.
Phoned ex. The usual. "I'm sick of hearing all her crap"
Well f'kin good for you ... I seem to have custody of our psychotic ex friend - grate!
Ah well. K in the office has offered help, that makes me feel better even if I don't take her up on it.
Dunno how much more of this I can take.
My aunt suggested seeing the Crime Prevention dudes since I'm worried about the letter box ... ok it's like a phobia, I could say - yeah she wouldn't do anything violent - but try keeping that in yer head when it's dark and you can't sleep.
I didn't say that to make you feel sorry for me. Just trying to explain what it's like.
Possibly a metal box fixed to my door beneath the letter box? I reckon the CPOs might know of summat like that. Doesn't stop the shite following me to church though.
Oh FFS I don't know. Can't think this through really. I don't want to move cos my house is a brilliant bargaining thing for an exchange. Mini's school is nearby so I have to stay here. Once Mini leaves school I'm off though.
Couple more years and I can leave all this lot and their mire of crap that they want to drag me back into. It worries me when I see Mini getting into the scandal of it. "I had to talk to someone about it!" Yeah, cos Lie Woman's son is a fantastic person to talk about it to

A lot of things are getting me down tonight. Some of it is the stuff surrounding Mini. He has an 'internal exclusion' at school. He got 3 red cards at school for talking and for missing his detention. 3 Cards is serious.
He has an utterly crud memory, just like his mum

He could write it in his school diary but he'd still forget to look. Maybe if he gets that mobile he wants for his birthday I can show him what I do - programme stuff into the calender so it bleeps at me to do stuff
Anyway, they sent me one of those letters ... 'your child is awful'
Told me what would happen, if he gets a school bus I must arrange travel etc. Said nothing about a packed lunch. Mini told me a half hour ago - oh I'll need a packed lunch cos I'm not allowed to go into the dinner hall.
I'm annoyed at him and at the school. Couldn't they have mentioned that in the letter? He gets free school meals usually. He gets back from his dad's on a Sunday night and dumps this on me. There are no shops open!
We've been here before. The only shops open are the Asian ones.
Chicken Tikka on a baguette? No? Didn't think so, small dude.
Och ignore me, just having a moan. So much for me coping

I'll toddle down there with a packed lunch after work tomorrow and suggest they include that information in their letters in future

For all the complaints I've had about him - I have equal amount of complaints about the way they run things there. Can't believe I had to appeal to get him in there *pffft* best non-fee-paying school round here MY ARSE.

Watched The Wonder Years today ... man it's been ages. Must point Mini at it when he gets back from his dad's.
Had various thoughts that I can't focus on properly to form into blogable posts
along the lines of
Fear of Change
Not that I have it. Sometimes I wonder if I'm missing summat in my genes
*ponders the possible gags from that line*
Big Things I've Done
Left all my friends and family to move way down here with a fookin wanker - it has to be said (fancy-a-shag guy) I saw the girl he left me for the other day. She's gorgeous. But he broke her. He dragged her through the courts, blackened her name and now she never sees her own daughter
*lucky escape*
Got married after seeing my boyfriend for five weeks. Stayed for 11 years, hoping it'd get better.
Separated from husband, to look after Mini mostly on my own. If I'd thought years ago that my life would be that I'd have run far, far away. I've coped but I wouldn't have when I was younger.Oh look, it's almost focussed thoughts

I'm scared of loads of things. But you get to a point where you want to kick the fear in the head and just do summat. I think that's what happened before each of these changes. "Go on, Fear, do yer damndest"

Maybe I'm just a bit simple

Added bit - No this wasn't aimed at anyone, I just realised the other day that I'm braver than I thought I was -

Subject: Sheriff Arpaio and he is cheap. LOL
If only we had more men in authority like Sheriff Arpaio - love the update!
Update on Joe Arpaio Oh, there's MUCH more to know about Sheriff Joe!
Maricopa County was spending approx. $18 million dollars a year on stray animals, like cats and dogs. Sheriff Joe offered to take the department over, and the County Supervisors said okay.
The animal shelters are now all staffed and operated by prisoners. They feed and care for the strays. Every animal in his care is taken out and walked twice daily. He now has prisoners who are experts in animal nutrition and behaviour. They give great classes for anyone who'd like to adopt an animal. He has literally taken stray dogs off the street, given them to the care of prisoners, and had them place in dog shows
The best part? His budget for the entire department is now under $3 million Teresa and I adopted a Weimeraner from a Maricopa County shelter two years ago. He was neutered, and current on a ll shots, in great health, and even had a microchip inserted the day we got him. Cost us $78.
The prisoners get the benefit of about $0.28 an hour for working, but most would work for free, just to be out of their cells for the day. Most of his budget is for utilities, building maintenance, etc. He pays the prisoners out of the fees collected for adopted animals.
I have long wondered when the rest of the country would take a look at the way he runs the jail system, and copy some of his ideas. He has a huge farm, donated to the county years ago, where inmates can work, and they grow most of their own fresh vegetables and food, doing all the work and harvesting by hand. He has a pretty good sized hog farm, which provides meat, and fertilizer. It fertilizes the Christmas tree nursery, where prisoners work, and you can buy a living Christmas tree for $6 - $8 for the Holidays, and plant it later. We have s ix trees in our yard from the Prison.
Yup, he was re-elected last year with 83% of the vote.
Now he's in trouble with the ACLU again. He painted all his buses and vehicles with a mural that has a special hotline phone number painted on it where you can call and report suspected illegal aliens. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement wasn't doing enough in his eyes, so he had 40 deputies trained specifically for enforcing immigration laws, started up his hotline, and bought
4 new buses just for hauling folks back to the border. He's kind of a 'Git-R Dun' kind of Sheriff.TO THOSE OF YOU NOT FAMILIAR WITH JOE ARPAIO HE IS THE MARICOPA ARIZONA COUNTY SHERIFF AND HE KEEPS GETTING ELECTED OVER AND OVER THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY:
Sheriff Joe Arpaio (In Arizona) who created the 'Tent City Jail':
He has jail meals down to 40 cents a serving and charges the inmates for them.
He stopped smoking and porno magazines in the jails. Took away their weights. Cut off all but 'G' movies.
He started chain gangs so the inmates could do free work on county and city projects.
Then he started chain gangs for women so he wouldn't get sued for discrimination.
He took away cable TV until he found out there was a Federal Court Order that required cable TV for jails. So he hooked up the cable TV again, only let in the Disney Channel and the Weather Channel.
When asked why the Weather Channel He replied, so they will know how hot its gonna be while they are working on my chain gangs.
He cut off coffee since it has zero nutritional value.
When the inmates complained, he told them, 'This isn't The Ritz/Carlton...if you don't like It, don't come back.'
He bought Newt Gingrich's lecture series on videotape that he pipes into the jails.
When asked by a reporter if he had any lecture series by a Democrat, he replied that a democratic lecture series might explain why a lot of the inmates were in his jails in the first place.
More on the Arizona Sheriff:
With temperatures being even hotter than usual in Phoenix (116 Degrees just set a new record), the Associated Press Reports:
About 2,000 inmates living in a barbed-wire-surrounded tent encampment at the Maricopa County Jail have been given permission to strip down to their Government-Issued pink boxer shorts.
On Wednesday, hundreds of men wearing boxers were either curled up on their bunk beds or chatted in the tents, which reached 138 Degrees inside the week before.
Many were also swathed in wet, pink towels as sweat collected on their chests and dripped down to their pink socks.
'It feels like we are in a furnace,' said James Zanzot, an inmate who has lived In the tents for 1 year. 'It's inhumane.'
Joe Arpaio, the tough-guy sheriff who created the tent city and long ago started making his prisoners wear pink, and eat bologna sandwiches, is not one bit sympathetic. He said Wednesday that he told all of the inmates: 'Its 120 Degrees in Iraq and our soldiers are living in tents too, And they have to wear full battle gear,
But they didn't commit any crimes, so shut your damned mouths!'
Way to Go, Sheriff!
Maybe if all prisons were like this one there would be a lot less crime and/or repeat offenders. Criminals should be punished for their crimes - not live in luxury until it's time for their parole, only to go out and commit another crime so they can get back in to live on taxpayers money and enjoy things taxpayers can't afford to have for themselves.
If you agree, pass this on. If not, just delete it.
Sheriff Joe was just re-elected Sheriff in Maricopa County, Arizona.

My ankle has been sore for a while, since I fell down stairs at my GPs (lol) about 4 years ago! So I bought an ankle support.
My wrist has been sore for a while, since madwoman tussled with me as I
punched hertried to get her to leave. So I bought a wrist support. There's a great big sale on at Debenhams, so I bought a stripy jumper for me (has to be stripy) ... red & grey ... lovely jubbley
and a tee shirt and jumper for Mini. Oh, and those JML touch lights that stick onto things (he has a loft bed and he's scared of the dark - both very good reasons to have insta-light)We'd arranged to meet another friend and her two kids for coffee. Do not buy the spiced chai latte from Debenhams ... they use syrup to make it and it's horrendous. Undrinkable *bleugh*
It all went on my card. I don't care. Much. Till the bill comes and I see the interest. Bastards.
Small children can be really sweet. I'm glad Mini's twelve though.

Being small
@ Thursday, 06. Mar, 2008 – 10:50:12 pm
News from the Xbox room ...
"She's nuts ... she told me yesterday that she never wants to speak to me or see me again!"
"Yeah I hate that ... out of nowhere"
mumblemumble *more tales of emotional warfare*
Apparently, puberty's in full swing amongst the 12 year olds.
One small female friend got laughed at for being small and trying to get onto a table to sit ... and he has NO IDEA why he did it cos she's a really close buddy. He's apologised over and over and over but she's ditched his friendship.
Another friend (the one who's quoted) told him to naff off, for no reason at all.
Sitting there chatting about it like wee old men, with very high-pitched voices

Why don't schools cover stuff like that in a bit more depth? Growing up is hard enough when yer coping with yer own mad hormones, never mind trying to work out why yer friend's suddenly become a complete Jekyl & Hyde.
The show-y off-y thing with guys and the bitchy snappy thing with girls. Imagine that hitting you when you have no idea why, and then yer mates all start doing it too! Just as you're getting ready for yer exams. It's a cruel joke, this living thing. We've all been through it - how did we cope without getting all mashed up? Oh yeah, we didn't

ExamGutsTrip
@ Wednesday, 05. Mar, 2008 – 05:14:14 pm
There's still summat going on in my digestive system. I reckon the pastries weren't fresh enough and my guts have staved off something. Can feel little bits of cramping along my body.
Ah well, I feel a lot better than yesterday.
The boy was supposed to be on a school trip to the Black Country Museum today. I got a text from school earlier saying they'd be back at 4pm instead of 8pm!
I phoned to ask why the trip was cut short and was answered as though I was a nuisance caller!
He just came in the door. Apparently they sat in the coach for 5 hours because of a tailback in traffic. They were allowed out the coach for 15 minutes! *pffft*
Hope they get a 'replacement' trip

My third exam mark was 10% down on the first two exams. I studied for those for about 4 weeks each, I started doing this one in November, then the PC bust and my back went *ping* and procrastination set in - so, like sleep, the longer you get; the worse you are!

I knew there was a good reason for me not opening my gob - d'oh!
I keep my mouth shut for feckin ages and ages never stating what exactly is on my mind.
Bottled up. Not out.

My niece phoned. She was on her way back home from Tesco. She saw mad woman's daughter there and they had a bit of a shouting match.
She asked her (!) what she was saying about her auntie and her dad.
I'm a dirty little slag apparently

Now, this is coming from mad woman but still ... I'm so fed-up with it all.
Another dampener on the next few days then. *chewing it round in my head*
Ignore it, you say? Easier said than done. I wish I'd never met any of them.
*pffft*
They were my introduction to church life

God, forgive them.
I wish I knew what I'd been doing to become a dirty little slag.
No flowers please

Parenthood is getting me down tonight. Kids round here all the time, staying for tea, often staying over. It's expensive. And tiring. Mini doesn't tidy up much or clean the dishes they use so I'm constantly clearing a space to put things on in the kitchen.
I can cope when I get a night free once per week. This week he's not going to his Dad's cos he can't see his friends when he's there. I love giving him things, spending money on him, letting him have pals round. But I'm so tired of all this
CLEAN THE FECKIN DISHES!
If I have to answer the door one more time tonight I think I'll scream *sigh*
Switch the Xbox off when you go out.
Stack the game boxes over there *points*
Take the back door key so I don't have to get up & down constantly
Rinse a cup out once in a while
Let me know well in advance if one of them is staying ... we don't have enough food!I might cry.
Told him not to get a Mother's Day anything ... just do the feckin dishes!
