I had blood tests last Monday, they said it would take a week for the results to come back. On Thursday they sent a letter telling me to make an appointment as they'd returned already. *eep*

*worry*

Phoned them and booked app for this morning. Asked receptionist if she could tell me anything about it. "Well, I'm not a clinician ... basically for the first 5 tests it says NO ACTION, then on the 6th test it says lots of numbers and letters and that you have to make an appointment to speak to the doc. I can't read it cos I'm not trained, etc."

*more worry*

Aaaaanyway. Turns out it's just a low calcium count in my blood. Could be lack of sunshine, could be parathyroid not working properly. It makes sense that this is what it is, as it fits with the bone pains and burning feeling. I've to stop taking the Vitamin D3 tablets (so they can get a true reading) and go back for more tests next Friday. Phew. Not so worrying really.

Lack of sunshine? That'd suggest you're either spending too much time indoors on blog, or that the UK isn't sunny enough for you! I'm glad its nothing to really worry about !

  lol yeah, it's really not surprising given the weather we've been having. But full points to my Dad and his Vitamin fanaticism, he spotted the right vit to prescribe!!

  When I got home I realised that if it's low while I've been taking D3 - how low will it get when I'm not?
  
  Must phone my Dad to let him know he recommended the right Vits. That'll cheer him up.

  When they took the blood I thought - ach it'll be nothing, it's always nothing. That's what gave me the biggest shock I think
  
  The receptionists are always like that, eh? The doc says they aren't supposed to say anything about the results really. I was fairly pleased she'd actually //said// there was a problem instead of blocking me ... I'd rather worry than be annoyed AND worry lol xxxxx

      Yeah I'm like that too. But I get in two minds about it. I think - it's gonna be summat horrendous and I start planning my deathbed speech/last post ... then I realise that they never, NEVER find anything and I'm always left with loads of symptoms and no reason for it. It //does// drive me mad. Then I decide not to go to the docs again for ages and ages cos they must think I'm a hypochondriac (I am lol) then I go in with a huge list of aches and pains and have forgotten when anything started

Geeze, I hate it when they do that. They *must* get hundreds of terrified phone calls all the time - why not just SAY in the letter what the results are. Stupid.

  I know ... calcium deficiency isn't exactly something I need hand-holding for. I suppose if they told you the easy ones, harmless ones, then if one day you asked and they said NO you'd immediately start freaking out thinking it's cancer or summat.
