tooth
@ Tuesday, 27. Jan, 2009 – 08:41:51 pm
Saw the dentist.
There's nothing for her to 'grip' to get the tooth out. The nerve was taken out before anyway. I have an appointment next month, for an hour. Surgery. Eep.

Bullies
@ Tuesday, 27. Jan, 2009 – 08:26:06 pm
I heard 'them' talking on telly today about the way they tackle bullying in the USA.
The teachers don't get all harsh on bullies, they have a discussion with the whole class at the end of each day to see how things went for each of the kids.
It works too.
They've tried a lot of methods over here and not much seems to work. It'd be nice if they had a wee go at this style.
It teaches kids responsibility and citizenship, amongst other things.
Just a thought *shrug*

Damn and blast
@ Monday, 26. Jan, 2009 – 01:51:21 pm
Just broke a tooth whilst brushing my teeth.
It's a capped tooth.
There's a broken bit of 'peg' in the middle.
It's right down to the gum.
Crap. There'll be digging involved.

In other news ...
I should be divorced next week. Although I've heard that before.

Errors
@ Sunday, 25. Jan, 2009 – 09:15:00 pm
Letter from lawyers arrived yesterday ... addressed to Mrs [my middle name] Subz. She said in this letter that she'd been trying to phone me for a while and couldn't get through. That'll be the new number I gave the admin about 2 months ago, that she wrote down but obviously didn't edit into my file

I am never called by my middle name, it's not even my first middle name, it's the second one. The very first 'lawyer' (legal aid) that took down my details, put this name down as if it were my Christian name. I corrected her. It's still on file as my
second middlename
Wonder if they're looking for a new admin? I'm gonna ask. What?! If you don't ask you don't get
It's also a ten minute walk from my house. Good omen? She wants proof of income to apply for fee remission. Once that's sorted the Decree Absolute will come through. It took the DSS a week to send that letter, the next 2 days were my fault. Didn't want to leave the house. I'll take it to her tomorrow.
The good news is ... the CSA money arrived today. It's for January. There's still £10.65 missing from December when they
syphoned offmisdirected some of the money from my almost ex husband.Anyway, was able to buy food so that'll do. Mini's been eating like a ravenous goat. That'll be another growth spurt then.
Stop growing! Yer almost taller than me and I can wear yer trainers already!
That's all I've got. *slump*

*sighs* Oh if I must :P

BCUK Official Bloscars
@ Saturday, 24. Jan, 2009 – 10:59:59 pm
Every year, for the past 3 years, our good friend Landers (aka Paddy) has hosted the BCUK Bloscars. He gets nothing from it except to see everyone having a laugh and enjoying themselves. He removed himself from nominations even!
It's a fun thing for all involved. Anyone can vote, anyone can be nominated. If you want to take part, the voting form and rules are here. There's only one week left to vote or ... if there's no interest he's thinking of cancelling

It's a good laugh. It's an evening of daftness and you get to read blogs you hadn't noticed before.
Community has been slowing a little recently. Go on, give it a go?

That's so funny!
@ Saturday, 24. Jan, 2009 – 10:34:15 pm
In the past two days I have read 4 different posts going on about how awful it is to write LOL when you comment on a funny post or comment. So, with this in mind, I have adopted a catchphrase.
This should explain it. Every time I say it, I'll be thinking of this episode

I love sleep, me
@ Saturday, 24. Jan, 2009 – 05:20:43 pm

There's a bed with my name on it, and a nice book right alongside; should sleep elude.
Moody child is with me this weekend so half a dozen others are hovering nearby. I'll swot them if they keep that noise going.

Niggled
@ Wednesday, 21. Jan, 2009 – 03:59:33 pm
Charm has always worried me. Charmers are delightful to listen to but a tad unnerving.
A while back I read a series of books (about 12 in all!) in which America got a new president, who the whole world were mesmerised by. People were so hypnotised by him that they didn't notice when he was saying the odd phrase here and there that was completely out of place. It was as though they'd been brain-washed and only those who hadn't been could see the real truth in his words.
He was adored by leaders worldwide. Created a New World Order. Then the shit hit the fan. To explain all the things that happened would take about 10 blogs. So I'll just say ... he conned everyone and it was a huge set-up by the men behind the curtains. We all ended up enslaved and doomed, basically.
None of this has bothered me much since I read it. Ooh it's a book and I've finished the series. Damn. Kinda thing.
Last night it niggled at me, nipping at me. I don't want to hear it. I blocked it out so much that ... even when I heard something slightly dodgy on telly last night, I dismissed it and have blocked what it was from my mind. I long for yesterday to have been the wonderful hopeful breakthrough that it seemed to be.
Sorry for sounding like a total wet blanket, or a madwoman
This is not fuelled by cynicism, it's a voice that refuses to be ignored. x

Sex and the icky
@ Sunday, 18. Jan, 2009 – 06:48:32 pm
I watched those documentaries about Paul Burrell yesterday. I knew he was a creep before but ... *ick*
I await more revelations.
The programmes have stayed in my head all day. I like when that happens cos I know it's from something not adding up. Something to chew on.
Blog was so quiet that I watched a DVD later. Sex and the City. Was surprisingly enjoyable. I bought it against my better instincts. Thought it would be guff, fluffy guff. It was emotionally gymnastic
The middle bit had me sobbing. I hate misunderstandings so so much. It ended well though, if a little rushed and weak compared to the rest of the story. Yes ... rushed, is the thing that spoilt it.*thrrrp*
That's enough of that
-
That was a bit close *eep*
@ Saturday, 17. Jan, 2009 – 06:08:26 pm
Nearly knocked down

Came out the shop. The lights had changed to red but a bus was blocking the whole of the crossing. A youngish woman on a mobility scooter was trying to turn the scooter to get round the bus.
I walked halfway across and looked back to see if she could manage. I was gonna hold my hand up while she got across. I realised she'd given up and was gonna wait till next time so proceeded to cross. Still at amber. Car didn't see me cossa the bus. Feck! Angry look from driver was as much fear as annoyance I reckon.
Rush hour on that road is freaky.

Am I Spoiled?
@ Saturday, 17. Jan, 2009 – 04:29:41 pm
You Are 24% Spoiled

You're barely spoiled. You may have some nice things, but you never let them go to your head. You appreciate each gift you're given - and you don't dwell on what you "deserve" to have.

blah
@ Thursday, 15. Jan, 2009 – 12:45:34 pm
The Wright Stuff was on telly the other morning. That's not unusual, it's on every weekday. I mean ... I saw it the other day.
They were talking about blind dates. Is it a good idea to set up two of yer mates on a blind date? If it works out you'll not see them again, if it doesn't you'll never get them in the same room again. Every call they had was positive!
The last caller was a bloke who'd been seeing his GF for 7 years. They went to the pub with one of his mates and he said there was such a chemistry between his mate and his GF that he told them to go for it! You shoulda seen Matthew Wright's face
The guy was really matter-of-fact about it and said they've been together for 3 years and are getting married soon. Weirdly, I understand his actions. That's all.

worth asking
@ Thursday, 15. Jan, 2009 – 12:15:09 am
*yawn*
Pilates today. Normal trainer was back. It was a 'locum' last week so we didn't do all the same stretches that we normally do. Today we did *creak*
I was telling the other women why I hadn't been for a while over Christmas. difficulty getting there (back and hips hurting, virus, freezing coldness) and one of them kept telling me to apply for mobility allowance. P had been suggesting it only half an hour before.
The disability process is a frickin nightmare. It was bad enough when I was 'on the sick' for depression. Sick note from doctor every month, checked by a government doctor every six months ... jumping through hoops basically, to explain why you feel crap. I hated it. I signed off after a horrible 'friend' suggested sarcastically that she should tell them (DSS) she feels a bit down so she can get extra money.
Tres offended.
I discovered that there are two parts to the DLA. One part is for mobility and one part is for a carer's allowance. I don't need that. A bus pass would do to be honest. But you can't get a bus pass unless you're classed as having mobility problems. Which means I'll have to
jumpshuffle through hoops. I'll see what they say. If I tell them - look, I just need help getting places, even to the gym which will help me be more mobile, maybe they'll realise I'm not trying to hump the system? You can only ask.

A question about chicken
@ Tuesday, 13. Jan, 2009 – 09:27:32 pm
A while back I bought a chicken, bacon and leek thing from M & S. It was on special offer (2 for £3 or summat) Anyway, I stuck one in the freezer. Looked at it a few days later and realised it said Not Suitable For Freezing on the back.
P said it'd probably be ok if I defrosted it thoroughly before cooking. I didn't want to throw any food away cos I hate waste
So I defrosted it overnight, cooked it and ate it for my tea. I've had a bit of a splitting headache but, as Andy pointed out, it'll be worry more than anything.
Waddya think?
P.S. am gonna do the 'where I blog from', just haven't done it yet

slightly motivated
@ Monday, 12. Jan, 2009 – 11:38:52 pm
Sleep has been odd recently. 12 hours long, but with wakiness in between.
Last night someone grabbed my shoulders and shook me awake! It was freaky. No-one there of course. Nocturnal ponderings ... God? Mini? Ghosts (annoyed at me for saying I didn't believe in them in my meme) ?

It made me get up. I had to check the house wasn't ... being broken into/burning/collapsing round about me/Mini in some kinda trouble. What if it was God/an angel/a benevolent ghost?
It was feck all. But it made me remember parts of the dream I'd been right in the middle of. Can't remember much now, right enough
Grate.Anyway, Work Focussed Interview today. Nice bloke, same guy every time I go there. Everything changes when the boy turns 14 in July. No more Income Support. Time to get serious about job-seeking. They've ditched the £1000-when-you-sign-off thing. You still get £40 per week for a year help, when you get a job of 16 hours per week. Generous, I think.
There's a place that can help if I agree to sign-up to at least 4 hours per week. We'll see.
I've signed into my learndirect site. That was worrying me. For whatever reason (I can't remember now) I stopped doing my course. (back pain? PC buggering up? summat else?) I shall resume, anon.
Tomorrow will be filled with cleaning the house. I still haven't done it properly since the boy was off school so it'll be a bit scary. *dread*
Then I'll go over the course work I've already done and finish the stuff I've not. Gap of about feckin 10 months

Pilates on Wednesday. And Starbucks (woohoo!)
Stuff to do
phew!

After-film thoughts
@ Sunday, 11. Jan, 2009 – 09:55:16 pm
Aw man ... he got there in the end ... she got KISSED!
*clears throat*
Love a good weepy
... Never Been KissedI can relate to that. But I wonder frickin WHY
I always felt like Josie Geller. There's no evidence to support that it's like that for me. I had loads of boyfriends when I was in teens and twenties. Wonder why it is that you can feel like that forever inside? Oddness.
I saw absolutely nothing in myself when I was younger (and now, but that isn't pertinent to this) and I think because of the assaults that I thought the only thing I'd be wanted for is to be used in some way. It wasn't a conscious thought. It became self-fulfilling though.

Almost slumped into that place today. Felt quite rubbish this morning. I kept it together and then when the wee yin got back from school (after a postponed detention cos he'd been ill before Christmas) the mood visibly lifted as we watched Malcolm in the Middle together. It's PMT. It feels exactly like heavy-duty depression.
The rest of the day has been fine. A bit of pondering here and there. Stuff about my character. Sometimes I think I'm like a blank sheet of paper with everyone else's opinions and mannerisms adopted onto it. Like a patchwork stuck to it. Anyway, blah.
I've spent £40 so far this week on gas. £20 on electricity. I find that excessive. No wonder I keep going into the red.
Thinking about it ... my dosh is being paid differently now. I'm getting less per week and a lump sum near the end of the month. It'll be the adjustment to that that is causing the problems. The last lump sum went on Christmas food (paying back money owed for) and Mini's Christmas money. I'll be straight this month.
I hoisted all the decorations back into the attic tonight. Phew. That woulda been amusing to watch
Huge 75 kilo tree in box balanced on my head
Just have to shift the ladder now.Waffle waffle

According to babelfish ...
Sandringham - for many decades dreamed Camilla Parker Bowles to become the woman at Prince Charles side. But where it is finite now it, the front is to crumble according to unconfirmed media reports enormously. To an escalation it came in Christmas holidays on the holidays seat of the Queen into Sandringham in the English county Norfolk its. " RTL Exklusiv" reported that the duchess 14 meters deep stairs fell down itself. Also Society reporter Kevin O' Sullivan told the People magazine that in the marriage between Camilla and Charles the worm was already longer in it. Camilla has besides a problem with alcohol and has with the fall before the stairs some intus had. " You want nevertheless only that I dead bin" , it is to have according to a palace coworker geschrien. On the same stairs Diana is by the way to have fallen itself into the depth, when the grief had taken prince Charles in her marriage with over hand. The royal house disclaimed the message immediately.

Quick phonecall to the CSA to ask what happened when my payment was short by £10.65 last month ...
Oops. It seems to have been paid to the secretary of state by mistake. It's happened in a few cases and just happens now and then. Don't know how or why. Will be rectified within the next two weeks.
What?
Honestly ... WHAT?

today's guff
@ Wednesday, 07. Jan, 2009 – 09:31:18 pm
Did Pilates today, for the first time in weeks. P gave me a lift and was gonna go swimming (and make that a regular thing on Wednesday mornings) but ... the boiler wasn't working at the pool so she waited, knitting.
Different trainer today as the other one's car was jiggered. Different, not better or worse. Was good. Needed.
Went into town for a wee while. Had lunch ... yadda yadda ... went to most excellent electrical gizmo shop. I'd tried loads of others but they were just "feck I'll give it a try" shops. I knew I'd get it in this one.
RCA adaptor.
The VGA cable arrived the other day but after setting up the Xbox in his room I realised to get sound on it, I had to stick the RCA end into an adaptor to go into the bass on my 5.1's
Ended up checking out youtube videos of it in case there was anything I hadn't accounted for

I ordered an adaptor from Amazon last night (less than £2) then decided to buy it if I saw it in town anyroads. The other thing I need - because there's only one VGA socket on the monitor and the pins might buckle with him plugging and unplugging the PC/Xbox VGA - is a splitter or a switch box. Luckily this same shop has a switch box for £15ish.
All this could be a moot point anyway. When I got home there was a letter from the police threatening 'steps' if the boy doesn't start behaving round here. An 'agreement' between him and the police, that he will behave. It lasts for 6 months if it goes ahead. In other words ... an ASBO (I think)
Slightly worrying as it spells out that it could threaten my tenancy. I don't blame them. Yes, it's boys being boys BUT ... they're a pain in the arse and it'd do my head in if I was them (the neighbours) I suspect it was the fire crackers (that I didn't know about till after) that did it
amongst many other things that I've posted about. He's been told ... put another foot wrong and the Xbox goes, dad's boot goes up yer arse and if I lose the house we're moving to Devon.
I know you lot reassure me I'm a good mum and all that ... but I'm too soft. He doesn't get all his own way but I often give in for a quiet life, with his friends staying over etc. Only his dad seems to get through to him. He's been doing the dishes all week and doing as I ask without quibbling (too much) since his dad gave him a talking to last weekend. He's staying with him this weekend too (I think ex worked out that he coulda mashed up his next holiday so said he'd have him for an extra weekend) Ho hum. I fit in with everyone, I do.
His house caught fire the other night apparently. One of his housemates had candles on the go and is a bit of a slob. Seriously, total slob. The others all went to stay with friends and ex stayed to clean up the damage. I asked what the landlady is saying about it (she's a friend of mine) and he reckons she's gonna sell the house soon! I guess he better get proposing soon then!
Anyway, that was today's guff ...

Miza did a post earlier and reminded me of Joyce Meyer. I used to read her books and have heard a lot of her stuff over the years. Also tried her site for some inspiration (it's nice to read a variety of viewpoints)
Anyroads, this bit of her site is impressive, if yer looking for some understanding of some life stuff. It's all Christian but don't let that put ye off

Christians have valid views too

Twas very nice indeedy, to be off duty and staying at P's. We had a lovely relaxed day again, loads of Frasier then Kiss The Girls (seen it before but excellent anyhow), more home-made trifle (I brought some back too) and general freedom-type-stuff.
Mini's been a bit of a wind-up with his dad. He told him I'd said he couldn't sleep in my bed, said only he was to sleep in it and dad was to sleep on his beanbag bed
The wee yin was playing with water bombs again and one of his wee pals hit a guy's car. The guy got out, Mini's friends got away first and Mini got a kickin'! He reckoned the guy was about 18-20, big black dude.
I was saying - well that'll teach you, etc. Till S asked if he'd cried. He said yes and that's when the sympathy happened. The dude grabbed him, threw him on the ground and was kicking him! Wish I'd been here

Ex fixed my bathroom mirror onto the wall again, moved the router cables all round behind the couch so we don't keep on tripping over it and made Mini do the dishes after every meal! He's been ordered to do the same for me. Wooo!
Am impressed. Made the weekend even better, coming home to niceness, even if I did have to endure 3 hours of Xbox since teatime.
Back to school tomorrow.
Time for another cuppa

Am at P's house. Ex is at my house looking after Mini. I was a little bit worried about leaving the house empty, plus he lives in a shared house so revels in having space and (relative) peace. They have Dara O'Briain's new DVD to watch. Want.
Drove out to Tesco for baccy and a cuppa in their Costa. They really had to do summat about their old cafes ... appalling places. Costa helps.
To P's. Fixed her wireless connection (woohoo!), watched telly had a roast dinner mmmmm and lots of tiny cream cakes. Was fabulous, home-made ... and not by me

Soaps then Big Bro
The guy on Big Bro's Little Brother is ... a dick. Oh Dermot, how we miss you.
Don't have much else to say. Michael MacIntyre is genius

That's all

My kitchen drawer has jammed shut; probably the potato masher.
Damn

Luckily there was a fair bit of unwashed cutlery available to do dinner. Yes, I washed it first

Oh. Help.
I hope it isn't a sign of how things will continue ...
