For such a rich country, it treats it citizens with disdain which is shameful. Wait, just the poor citizens get treated that way. I stand corrected. xxx

That is why so many poor ( and possibly innocent) in death row get killed they cant afford a lawyer, so the wealthy ones can fight their case and stand a chance. So much for the American dream

I wouldn't turn down wealth, but I would give to the 'poor'. The amount would be weighed with the need + other circumstances. x

That's so true. Thankfully, in Canada, if you can't afford a lawyer there is publicly funded legal aide available. xxx
