It just struck me that they're soldiers ... you'd think they'd be a bit less naive. You can't go running to folk saying - but they told a lie ... they're not playing by the rules! In war, people die. That's how you know who has 'won'.
Don't get me wrong ... I feel for the families etc but *fneugh*-

'zactly they are all as bad as each other I think. I would like to see my taxes being spent on education and healthcare and housing and not on death and destruction.
If they feel so strongly that the war is right then let them go out there and fight it and pay for it out of their own purse and not the public one. No great loss for the rest of us...........
No wonder this country is still in recession after all the other countires economies are picking up.

I have 2 family members out there..I refuse to watch/read any media coverage about it..does me head in more than I do!But they knew what the were getting into as to say when they signed up to the army..

I agree with you sweetie. You can't expect to go to war and not have people killed - our side gets killed, their side gets killed and the wonderful politicians sit in their ornate offices making all the decisions for 'collateral damage'. If you become a soldier (or the air force/navy equivalent) then you join up to defend the country with your life. That's the point of being in the forces! You would think after the thousands of years of history that we are supposed to learn from that we would have bloody learned that people are gonna die and that sitting round a table would be a more sensible approach.

Wonder what it'd have been like if we had kind of reportage in WW2? The folk in government who allowed this to happen should be forced to have members of their family sign-up. Then they'd treat it a bit differently
